About Free Curbside Recycling
If you are already participating in our curbside service, you do not need to do anything. Your service will be automatically changed to a free service. (City of La Junta recyclers will be notified by the City when available)
Otherwise, click the link below to sign up online.
Some details: We use green and orange colored bags for collecting recycling material. The colored bags will be delivered to you when the service starts.
What & How to recycle: Place recyclables in the colored bags. On pick up day tie bags with a simple bow tie and place bags in your front yard or near the curb where they will be easily seen by our driver.
Orange bag: Paper: newspaper, office paper, junk mail, magazines, bagged-shredded-paper, cardboard
Green bag: Plastic bottles, jars, jugs, tubs, buckets (#1, #2, and #5 containers only) Metal: aluminum cans and rinsed steel cans
Cardboard can be broken down and stuffed into the orange bag or into an intact box. We will pick it up alongside the bags. Make sure all cardboard boxes are broken down.
Pick up times: Recyclables will be picked up every other week. Place bags beside the curb or front lawn where they will be easily seen by our driver. Have bags out by 8:00 am. CVR will collect filled bags and replace them with empty bags when we collect. Recyclers can put out a rock, brick, etc. to anchor new bags. Click below to fill in the sign up form.
