The Baler Fund Drive

Great news – we have reached our fundraising goal to pay for our horizontal baler! Thank you to the many supporters who contributed to our baler fund drive. We would like to give special recognition to the National Park Foundation and Subaru of America for completing the fundraiser with a donation of $60,000. We are most grateful for their contribution!

A baler is at the heart of any recycling center. It compacts paper, cardboard,
plastics, and aluminum into tight bales for shipping. Our new baler is working great and it has allowed us to increase our tonnage every year. Last year we recycled a record 809 tons which equals approximately 40 semi loads of materials that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill.

Clean Valley Recycling is a full-service recycler, accepting paper, plastics,
cardboard, electronics, paint, glass, metals, and reclaimed building materials.
Our mission is to provide convenient and affordable recycling services and
to inspire and educate the residents of Southeast Colorado to reduce,
reuse, and recycle!

We serve communities throughout Southeast Colorado –
La Junta, Lamar, Las Animas, Cheraw, Swink, Rocky Ford, Ordway,
Fowler, Trinidad, Karval and Walsh.

Our recycle volume is growing– from 220 tons in 2013 to 809 tons
in 2022! We want to help Southeast Colorado meet the statewide material recycling and composting goals of 35%.

Our success is due to the dedication and hard work of our paid staff and dozens of volunteers, through grant funding, and through generous donations from people like you.
